Reviewed: Cauldron – Last Words: Screamed From Behind God’s Muzzle

Rating – 5/5

Release Date – 8th January

Last words: Screamed behind gods muzzle is Cauldrons follow up to their two track Shrine back in 2018. The Birmingham outfit have been hard at work playing shows across the UK with bands such as Year Of The Knife & Vein who need no introduction.

The 6 track ep continues to live and breathe through the blend of hardcore and metalcore. Unlike shrine LWSFBGM starts off with a melody not unseen from the bands previous releases, but this is only temporary as the fierce ‘Reprisal’ scream takes over.

Cauldron have pieced this jigsaw puzzle together slowly but its definitely paid off as LWSFBGM is setting the bar for new UK hardcore & metalcore bands across the board. Overall LWSFBGM is at the fore-front of the metalcore revival, this EP is full of ridiciously heavy breakdowns and with two great features from the likes of Dan Wilson of Phase Two & Jess Nyx of Mortality rate it is clear that Cauldron are set for success in 2020.
